Why a Website Refresh is Essential
Think of your website as your digital storefront (even if you’re a service provider). Over time, trends change, your business offerings expand, and your target audience’s needs may shift.
An outdated website that no longer serves the above can:
- Look unprofessional. First impressions matter, and a poorly designed or slow website can create lasting negative impressions.
- Fail to generate consistent leads, sales, and clients. Your website should be a 24/7 salesperson — showcasing your best offers and guiding visitors toward a sale. But it won’t be able to do that if it’s not resonating with your audience.
Regularly updating your website ensures that it continues to serve as a powerful tool for your business, showcasing your skills, establishing your credibility, and ultimately, landing the sale.

What You Can Update This Spring (and What We Did!)
We may be partial, but we really do believe WordPress themes make it so much easier to keep your website up to date. With the power of Elementor, WordPress’ plug-and-play builder, updating your website isn’t a hassle — it’s something you look forward to!
You’ll have updates done in no time, and can get back to brainstorming ways to grow this year.
So what are those updates? We’ll cover what we did to boost our own website, and how you can do it too, below!
1 | Website Content Audit and Streamlining
Just like spring cleaning, it’s essential to declutter your digital space. During our spring website redesign, we went through all our pages — over 100! — and deleted those we no longer needed.
While most were retired product pages, it made a big impact on our site as a whole. It simplified navigation and also improved site speed and clarity. We also implemented redirects for those deleted URLs, ensuring that anyone who might have a link to an old page is seamlessly directed to a relevant new one.
So… are there any pages you need to archive or delete? Start scanning your sitemap and create a list!

2 | Improving User Experience and Conversion Workflow
Your website should guide visitors smoothly toward your end goal — whether that’s purchasing from you or signing up to work with you. So, we redesigned our page templates with a better conversion workflow in mind.
This involved strategically placing calls to action, simplifying forms, and ensuring a clear path from initial interest to engagement or purchase, aligning with the idea that a “confused buyer won’t make a purchase.”
If you’re not sure about the user experience of your website, navigate through it as if you were a site visitor, seeing things for the very first time. Are resources easy to find? Is it clear what you do? The answers will be telling — and may even show you some crucial gaps in the process.

3 | Visual Refresh and Branding
Of course, what’s a spring website redesign without a visual refresh, too?
We updated our product imagery, uploading new, high-quality images to better attract and retain site visitors. We also updated the alt text for these images, helping them rank for our target keywords.
But it didn’t stop there! We made some subtle tweaks to our brand as well. While we kept our signature blush pink color, we refreshed it with a bolder shade for our buttons. This subtle change made our calls to action more prominent.
We also updated our heading font — transitioning from a sans-serif to a serif font — to better reflect the professional side and experience of our brand.
Even small brand tweaks can significantly impact the overall feel of your website. Ask yourself: Does yours still feel like a reflection of you and the products or services you offer? Or is it starting to feel like a version of your business that no longer exists?
Measuring Performance After Your Refresh
Once you’ve implemented your website updates, it’s essential to track your performance to see what’s working (or isn’t). Monitor metrics such as:
- Website traffic: Are more people visiting your site?
- Bounce rate: Are visitors staying longer on your pages?
- Time on page: Are people engaging with your content?
- Click-through rates: Are visitors clicking on your calls to action?
- Lead generation: Are you collecting more email sign-ups or inquiries?
- Sales: Are you seeing an increase in sales?
- Testimonials page visits: Are people looking at your social proof?
By analyzing these metrics, you can get valuable insights into the impact of your spring website redesign. You’ll also be better equipped to make decisions about the future of your offers, your business, and your brand!
