How To Effectively Monetize Your Blog | Are you wondering how to effectively monetize your blog? Whether you've been blogging for years, or just started out, here are 6 money-making tips!

If you are a blogger you’ve probably seen hundreds of income reports from other bloggers and might be wondering how you can effectively monetize your blog just like they do.

I mean, it’s the dream of all bloggers, right? You create content you love writing and the money comes rolling in?

But that isn’t always how it works! There are lots of different ways that you can monetize a blog but not all of them will be the right fit for your blog and the niche you are in.

You might have already tried a few methods already but seen no results. Or, you might just be starting out and have no idea where to begin.

I understand, there are lots of tutorials, courses, blog posts, and freebies out there, all telling you how to make money online. It can be completely overwhelming.

But don’t stress– we’re here to help you find your niche and make it profitable, even in a crowded market where many bloggers are writing about the same topics, day in and day out.

In this post, I shared about how to effectively monetize your blog with my top 6 tips on making money from your blog (which is what we all secretly — or not so secretly — want, right?!).

1 | Hone in on your blog’s purpose

First things first: what do you want your blog to be known for?

Is it recipes, fashion, marketing tips?

Once you know the theme of your blog, you can start to narrow down your money-making options within that niche and really start to monetize your blog.

In some cases, your best option might be an Amazon affiliate store or cost-per-click advertising.

In others, it could be as simple as partnerships with brands that align with your blog’s mission.

Whatever you blog about, I guarantee you there’s a way to make money from it.

2 | Research relevant affiliate and referral programs

Spend some time thinking about brands and services you love, that are aligned with the brand purpose you’ve established.

If the subject of your blog is organization, you might aspire to an affiliate program with the Container Store or a similar organization brand.

Put your thinking cap on and brainstorm 10-20 products and services you already use and love and search to see if they have an affiliate or referral program.

Many companies now offer referral programs, heck even Walmart has a referral program!

Just remember: Only promote products, people, and services that you love. If your recommendations are authentic and honest the number of customer conversions will increase. Don’t recommend something you wouldn’t use yourself.

3 | Offer services + digital products that correspond to your brand purpose

If you have something to offer your audience (and, chances are, you do!), why not make money off of it?

You can do this by offering a service or a digital product–like an ebook, workbook, or video course–on a subject in line with your blog’s ultimate purpose.

4 | Consider remarketing

This one does cost a bit of money on your end, but hear me out.

If your blog sells a physical or digital product or service, it could be worth attaching a retargeting pixel to your site to market to customers who left your blog without purchasing and encourage them to come back and make that purchase.

Remarketing to audiences of people that have already visited your site works if you set it up correctly and you have specific goals in mind.

It basically serves as a “reminder” to people who have visited your website about the product or service that they were at some point interested in.

It’s a great way to drive traffic back to your website and effectively monetize your blog.

5 | Be a podcast + blog guest

Obviously, this here is a guest post itself so we loving writing guest posts!

We even have a post on our site all about how you can use and optimize your guest posting opportunities to your advantage.

Driving new, relevant traffic to your site is a great way to continue to monetize your blog over time.

If allowed, you can drive traffic to certain products or services, which is a great way to exposure.

Not all guest post and podcast interview opportunities allow you to promote paid opportunities, but getting exposure to a new audience will certainly help boost your website traffic which will hopefully lead to more customers!
